We had fresh raspberries in our cereal this morning. Yum, Yum!! We hooked up and drove to the Williwaw Forest Service Campground on the Portage Glacier - Whittier Road. We stayed here a couple of nights on the way to Seward. We had a great pull through spot with only two campers near us. It was very quiet compared to Homer Spit. We took showers in the Casita and then put on some nicer clothes (we have been wearing jeans, t-shirts and tennis shoes mostly) and went to eat at the Double Musky Restaurant in Girdwood. Phil told us it had great steaks. We looked it up on google and it was visited by Bon Appetit, Fodors and the Food Network Channel "Best of" series. We got there at 4:30 when they opened and the line was out the door and into the parking lot! The line moved fairly fast and when we got to the host in 15 minutes we were 3rd on the waiting list. We went to the bar and had a glass of wine and some escargot stuffed mushrooms with hot fresh bread. We shared out table with a couple from Anchorage. We were seated within 45 minutes and Jim ordered the famous French Pepper Steak (New York steak crusty with cracked pepper and covered with a spicy burgundy sauce). I had crab stuffed halibut steak with crab meat dressing which contains crab, mushrooms, shallots, chablis, heavy cream, creole seasoning and served with creole beurre blanc (which tasted like etoufee).) They served a salad before and had hot fresh jalapeno cheese bread. We were too full for desert and even took half of our food home in a doggie bag. When we left there were even more people waiting for a table. On the way in you pass a massive wine cellar. If anyone comes this way for vacation here is the site: www.doublemuskyinn.com/framed.html We watched an old movie after we got back to the Casita, "Silver Streak".
