We hooked up and headed to Homer. I wanted to stay a couple of more days at Phil and Mary's land -- we will stay another night on the way back to Anchorage. We filled our water tank at Ninilchik but didn't dump -- there is a dump station in Homer. We made a couple of stops at viewpoints along the way. This is beautiful scenery looking at the Cook Inlet and Kachemak Bay. We got an RV space at Homer Spit city campground then went to town and visited the Alaska Islands & Oceans Visitors center. There is a nice trail through Beluga Slough that takes you to the beach. We had a beer at Homer Brewing and then went to Ring of Fire Meadery. Today is the 25th anniversary of Jim and my first date. We went to a restaurant to have halibut fish and chips. They deliver the fish directly to the restaurant from the fishing boats across the street. We sat by the window and watched the otters playing in the surf. We walked across the street to the Salty Dawg, a famous bar that is in an 1889 building shaped like a lighthouse on the spit. We also visited the Seafarer Memorial. The view from the Casita is of Kachemak Bay and the Grewingk Glacier.
